My name is Jenna and I am 27 years old living life in the city of Atlanta.
I have decided to commit to the Paleo diet for not just the 30 day challenge everyone recommends, but for a true life style change. I grew up in a home where every drawer was filled with junk, we had McDonald's at least 3 times a week and the response to "what's for dinner" was usually "whatever you can find to microwave". I am completely addicted to sugar and at 27 years old am finding myself on a direct route to diabetes in a few years. Commiting to Paleo is not just about weight loss, it is about determining my future.
I have successfully completed exactly 30 days of Paleo once before. However, day 30 ended at a friend's wedding and everything just went downhill from there. Beware that your friends are the worst influences and it takes more will power to say no to them than it does to say no to food.
I have had trouble getting back on the wagon so I decided to start this blog to document my progress and help others who are interested in what Paleo is all about. In short the rules are no grain, dairy, gluten, or sugar (besides natural sugar found in fruit). I will share more about the Paleo philosophy and benefits as the days go by. More than anything I needed someone or something to hold me accountable to my commitment! So if you are out there looking for support too just shoot me a post.
Tomorrow starts day one which usually isn't so bad other than remembering not to pick up that cookie or small piece of leftover cake in the break room. It is usually day 2 for those of us addicted to sugar that it becomes tough. I look forward to reporting my results each day and sharing my experiences. Hopefully they will benefit someone else who is struggling.
Till tomorrow or better yet, the beginning.
